salzbergwerk Heilbronn

Southwest salt field between towns Heilbronn, Bad Rappenau and Bad Friedrichshall has been revealed in 12th century already.

Until today three main mining monuments survived - Heilbronn, König Wilhelm II. (both still active) and old saline in Bad Rappenau.

The mining history at Heilbronn started here in 1885, contemporary surface buildings are much younger of course. Headframes above pit Franken and Heilbronn were constructed in 1976 and 1982. In 2004 a new pit Konradsberg was opened.
