Vítkovické slévárny

History of Vitkovice foundries is well bonded with the history of Vitkovice ironworks. The plant was founded in 1828 by Olomouc archbishop Rudolf Habsbursky. Grey-iron foudry started production soon after, in 1831.

However the pillars of nowadays profile, i.e. manufacturing of metallurgical rolls and heavy machinery components, were laid down in the beginning of 20th century, in 1910.


In 1989 construction of the unique technology of rolls centrifugal casting was established.

Contemporary production contains centrifugal and stationary casts rolls, steel and grey-iron casts up to 8 tons and non-ferrous metal casts.
